How mush noise is safe ?

Knowing what constitutes “safe” noise levels is essential for hearing protection. A sound’s decibel level (dB) is only one factor to consider; another is the duration of exposure. Permanent hearing loss can result from repeated or prolonged exposure to loud noises.

Here are some examples of noise levels that can cause pain and injury

Shotgun - 150 dB

Firework - 140 dB

Jackhammer - 130 dB

Sirens - 120 dB

Loud noises at these levels can damage your hearing in 2 to 15 minutes.

Rock Concert - 110 dB

Car Horn - 100 dB

Such noise levels are capable of causing annoyance and stress.

Shouting Conversation - 95 to 85 dB

Vaccum Cleaner - 80 to 70 dB

These sound levels usually won't harm your hearing

Normal Conversation - 60 to 40 dB

Normal breathing - 10 to 30 dB
